CREDIT HOUR ENROLLMENT

In addition to indicating a student's progress toward fulfilling degree requirements, credit hour enrollment in the aggregate provides an index of the institutional instructional activity. Credit hour enrollment for the fall semesters 1997-97 through 2001-2002 is shown by campus in the table below.

For fall semester 2001-2002 total credit hour enrollment was 1,060,730, surpassing one million credit hours for the third time with a 3% increase over last year and establishing a new record.

Although the Bloomington campus headcount enrollment accounts for only 39.5 percent of total headcount enrollment, its share of the credit hour enrollment is 47.5 percent. The difference results from the large percentage of full-time students enrolled on the Bloomington campus.
