AGE DISTRIBUTION OF FACULTY
The age distribution of 3,752 faculty members with professorial rank is shown below. The average age of professors is 55 at the Bloomington, at the IUPUI campus 54, and 55 at the regional campuses. The average age of associate professors at Bloomington is 48, at IUPUI, 49, and at the other campuses, 51. Assistant professors' average age at Bloomington is 39, at IUPUI, 41, and at the other campuses, 42. Eight percent of the faculty are age 35 or younger; 14 percent are age 60 or older.
