Of Indiana University's total enrollment of 96,219, 78 percent
(75,481
students) at the time of admission were classified from the State of Indiana. All 92
counties in the State of Indiana are represented. Fifty-nine percent of the in-state
enrollment comes from ten counties: Allen, Clark, Elkhart, Hamilton,
Hendricks, Johnson, Lake,
Marion, Monroe, and St. Joseph.
All 50 states, Washington, D.C., two U.S. territories, and 160 foreign countries are
represented in Indiana University's out-of-state enrollment of 16,909, almost 18 percent
of the total enrollment. Students from California, Illinois, Kentucky, Michigan, New York,
and Ohio account for 40 percent of the total out-of-state enrollment.
