COMPARISON OF INSTRUCTIONAL FEES FOR REGIONAL CAMPUSES OF   BIG TEN INSTITUTIONS

               As shown below, the resident undergraduate rate of $3,221 for four of Indiana University's regional campuses -- East, Kokomo, Northwest, and Southeast -- ranks 12th out of 15 in a comparison of academic-year full-time instructional fee rates among the regional campuses of the Big Ten institutions. The rate of $3,221 is $3,891 less than the highest rate of $7,112 at the Altoona campus of Penn State University and is $445 more than the lowest rate of $2,776 at the regional campuses of University of Wisconsin.
            For the East, Kokomo, and Southeast campuses, the resident graduate rate of $3,365 ranks 12th out of 14; it is $4,879 less than the highest rate, $8,244, at the Altoona campus of Penn State University, and it is only $677 more than the lowest rate, $2,688, at the Springfield campus of Illinois University.
            In 1993-94, the Trustees approved a separate fee structure for the South Bend campus. Its resident undergraduate fee rate ranks ninth out of 15, three positions higher than the rank of other IU regional campuses. South Bend's nonresident undergraduate fee rates rank two positions higher than the corresponding rates on the other IU regional campuses. Its nonresident graduate fee rate ranks higher as well.
